I didn’t have a lightmeter or really any idea how to calculate proper exposure for these shots. What I wound up doing was, literally, stopping all the way down and taking shots at everything from 15 seconds to three minutes, at ten-second intervals.

Eventually I gave up counting and just started waiting for convenient ferry-boats to come trace pretty light trails.
