Lissa kneels (underpainting)

Very very first attempt with oil paints, ever. And just the base coat, at that; technically I haven’t even started painting yet, this is just sketching out the composition.

(Photographing paintings is really difficult, I’d just like to mention as an aside. I’m constantly surprised by how different the snapshot looks from the real thing; the color, texture, everything changes once you put it on film, and I haven’t managed to figure out how to control which direction it goes.)
