Fear the ball of tennis

This is what happened when I opened the patio door to get a closer shot. The tennis ball was just sitting there minding its own business.

It quite clearly enunciated the word “gobble” before running away. The turkey did. Not the tennis ball. Which just sat there minding its own business. In case that wasn’t clear.
