Hallway (underpainting)

Not at all pleased with how this one is going. Kate aptly described it as “marshmallow room” — I overexaggerated the curves, so instead of looking fisheye it just looks poofy. I need to desaturate the colors quite a bit, darken that back wall, and probably redo the floor entirely. Might be salvageable. Good practice, anyway. Keep telling yourself that.

Had an interesting conversation with Beth about this stuff — she thinks I should be working on larger canvases and let the texture of the paint work more for me. Kate thinks I should stop painting photos and start painting paintings. They’re both right, probably.
