You can see Stellan struggling to get control of his muscles, waving things around trying to figure out how they work. It’s a little unsettling when in the middle of one of his series of bizarre facial contortions he suddenly comes up with an expression that looks completely familiar and human.

Usually they’re yawns or sneezes — gestures that are reflexes even for adults — but I think I’m starting to see the faint beginnings of intent in there somewhere.
