Signifiers of failure

One thing I have to stop doing is leaving my office full of signifiers of failure: little stacks of unfinished projects, piles of papers or tools.

I go in there ready to do some work and immediately I’m surrounded by things I meant to do or things I’m putting off or things I know I’ll never finish and the impetus to do whatever it was I was psyched about doing just drains away in the face of all those dusty stacks, all those tasks undone.
