Monkey Trap

11/30/09

Remember that old (and probably apocryphal) story about how to catch a monkey?

You know the one, where you cut a hole in a coconut, and put some rice inside, and the monkey reaches into the hole to get the rice but then his fist is too big to fit through the hole again, so he’s stuck, and he won’t let go of the rice so he just has to stay there until the hunter comes back and does whatever it is that monkey hunters do with monkeys after they’ve caught one?

Presumably the coconut is anchored to something in this scenario. I was never really clear on that part. And I’m not sure that monkeys even eat rice.

Anyway, the point of me bringing all this up is THIS WOULD BE TOTALLY EFFECTIVE IF YOU WANTED TO CATCH A 14-MONTH-OLD BOY.
