Green means stop

Some might interpret this slide [source] as a sign that things are going badly in Iraq.

I, on the other hand, see it as a sign that the military needs to hire some information designers.

(Well, okay, and also that things are going badly in Iraq. But we knew that part already. And this site isn’t about politics, so we’re not going to talk about that part.)

I’m particularly impressed by the notion that “Unorganized spontaneous mass civil conflict” gets a green ‘peace / routine’ label. “Low level violence” being the only item which rates the the red ‘critical’ label is another good one. (Unless ‘low level’ means deep or intrinsic, or what most of us would call ‘high level’, which is a possibility.)

I know I’m just picking on somebody’s powerpoint slide, but I’ve seen salesmen do a better design job than this.
