Stellan mentioned that his windowsill is where he keeps his "favorite discs". This was a stumper because what's actually on his windowsill is a couple of birthday cards he has saved (one sings "happy birthday" when you open it, the other is one of those little roll-the-ball-into-the-target games and makes pinball noises while you're "playing".)

Took us a while, but Emily was the one that figured out his thinking process. Most of his experience with music is in one way or another via the internet: it's this amorphous nonphysical stuff that could come from any device, and those devices can play any song he can think of. But we have a handful of CDs that are still in active use. Those make the same sounds every time you use them. Just like his birthday cards.

So that was it. Any device that is so limited that it can only play one song, must therefore be a "disc". Perfectly sound logic.
