Lunar eclipse

Stellan stayed up late enough to see the very beginning of the eclipse, and then went to bed all jazzed about the idea that I'd wake him up a couple of hours later so he could see it at its peak.

So a couple of hours later I carried him (because he was too sleepy to walk) downstairs and out to the balcony and pointed at the red moon and got a genuine "WHOAH!" Then a short pause, then "Dad can we watch this from inside the house?"

So I carried him inside and set him in a chair by the window and turned off all the house lights and sat down next to him and he said "Dad. This is... really... This is REALLY... disappointing." So I carried him back upstairs and he announced "I'm NOT going to do this to MY kid." and immediately fell back to sleep.

Eclipse, schmeclipse; you don't mess with a guy's circadian rhythm
