Inside my djembe

I’ve owned this drum for, um… ok, Emily’s going to make fun of me but I can’t remember how long it’s been since we lived in Chicago, where she bought it for me as a birthday present. Say ten years, that’s going to be pretty close. This was the first time I’ve ever seen the inside of it, because it’s the first time I ever took the skin off.

That white powdery substance inside? That’s playa dust. From when we went to Burning Man.
